Happy National Doughnut Day
Today is apparently the day when we are all to celebrate the humble creation that is the doughnut. The wonderful Wikipedia describes the day thus:
National Doughnut Day is on the first Friday of June each year. The holiday celebrates the doughnut, an edible, ring-shaped piece of dough which is deep-fried and sweetened.
In addition to being a clearly fabulous day, it’s also proving unusually popular on the web, with national donut (god bless Americans huh) day being the top search for the day according to Google and its Hot Trends service.
Alas we don’t have any doughnut related merchants for you to celebrate the day whilst earning points, the nearest being a Button Moon adventure where they travel to Planet Doughnut, which sounds pretty amazing to me, but unfortunately provides little edible enjoyment.
That disappointment aside, did you celebrate National Doughnut Day today? Are you a doughnut lover?
