What’s the world’s worst idea?
Reality TV and the atom bomb have topped the list of the “world’s worst ideas” in a survey to to celebrate Museums and Galleries Month. What are the world’s best and worst inventions?
Almost a fifth of people asked, including young people aged 16 - 24, named reality TV as the worst invention ever. Capital punishment and plastic bags also made it into the top five clangers.
The wheel was chosen as the best innovation and the internet came in at number two. Penicillin and women’s rights were also in the top five. Leonardo da Vinci was named as the person in history who was responsible for the best ideas.
