Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the tallest of the tall?
We live in a world where every year we expend millions of tons of our rapidly diminishing natural resources in the mass production of completely pointless tat that people with more money than sense buy on a whim and quickly discard. Some of it’s rather fun, some of it is just rubbish, but every now and again along comes something, usually out of leftfield, wherever that is, that challenges the fabric of the consumer’s powers of judgement. That consumer in this case being your friendly neighbourhood MutualPoints Blogmonkey (guaranteed to enliven any event at which communal grooming and banana fixations are not frowned upon).
All of which brings us nicely to the Who Tall Are You Mirror available from Firebox for £59.99. It’s a mirror calibrated with the names and relative heights of around 120 famous sorts from Gary Coleman down at the bottom right up to Liverpool’s bench-warming ganglemeister Peter Crouch.
Not only does it enable one to measure one’s own height against an impressively random array of well known names (it’s not often that Edith Piaf, Jordan and Peter the Great appear in the same line-up), but it also provides you with at-a-glance knowledge such as Gillian Anderson being a wee bit shorter than Sheryl Crow but slightly taller than Christina Aguilera. Endlessly fascinating or utterly useless? We’ll leave you to answer that question for yourself, but you can buy it here.
