Are you concerned enough with how you look to go on a diet?
Almost three quarters of Britons are unhappy with their body shape but only one in three can be bothered to improve their diet and exercise, according to a survey.
A quarter of Britons even admit to putting no time aside for proper exercise. The worrying findings come as Britain is gripped by a soaring fatness epidemic with almost a quarter of adults now classed as obese.
The study, commissioned by nutrition company myprotein.co.uk, found that 73 per cent of adults questioned failed to meet the Government guidelines of 30 minutes of exercise five times a week. Most blamed their lack of exercise on not having enough time, while a third said they “just don’t want to” or they had “better things to do”.

I have just read somewhere that for every pound you are overweight, you’re adding four pounds of pressure to your knee joints. Statistics like this mean it absolutely does matter what you look like. If you look overweight, you probably are overweight and therefore jeopardising your health. As the NHS chips away at its universal coverage it’ll be interesting to see whether people take more care of themselves as a way of avoiding expensive doctors’ bills.
